I wish I could invent more colors.

My name is Matthew Wood and I'm 29 years old. I'm currently living in North Carolina. Most of my interests revolve around the computer in some form or another.

My art is my dream, my night, and my place of rest. I'm influenced visually by Dave McKean, Gil Bruvel, Maxfield Parish, Michael Parkes, Alphonse Mucha, Amedeo Modigilani, and Gustav Klimt to name a few. Most of my work is done on the computer. I photograph a model and then use Photoshop and Painter to achieve the desired affects. Freehand and Truespace are used for most of the background work.

"Professionalism in art has this difficulty: To be professional is to be dependable, to be dependable is to be predictable, and predictability is esthetically boring an anti-virtue in a field where we hope to be astonished and startled and at some deep level refreshed."

from A Few Words in defense of the Amatuer Reader by John Updike
